Dan Medica South Sponsors Follow That Fire Engine

Dan Medica South is proud to sponsor such a worthwhile and innovative idea to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Support; The Fire Fighters Charity; and The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.

We have donated four gel seat pads with covers for the fire engine crew as they circumnavigate the globe in a fire engine.

"We are a crew of friends, circum-navigating the globe in a Fire Engine, for charity. This is the first time that a journey of this nature has been attempted, in such a vehicle and, if the expedition is successful, it will officially enter the Guinness Book of Records as the longest continuous journey in a fire engine!"

"The expedition, which is conceived in tribute to the memory my friend's father, Garth Moore, who died of cancer in July of last year, having served the Dorset Fire Brigade for more than 30 years, will raise money through sponsorship for three officially adopted charities associated with his life and illness: Macmillan Cancer Support; The Fire Fighters Charity; and The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. "The fire engine left on 18th July 2010, and will be on the road for 9 months, completely self sufficient for much of this time, both medically and mechanically. The expedition is unique in that it is 100% self funded by the crew. Every single penny of all donations goes directly to the charities. So far we have raised over £60,000."
