A number of years ago I hunted for a gel seat solution for longer journeys on the Busa and found nothing available in the UK. What I did find was an excellent product from “But Buffer” (an unfortunate name I know, only Americans would come up with such a name). I purchased some spare seats from eBay, removed the gel pads from the clip/strap on covers they came in and paid a local upholsterer £15 to fit the gel into the saddles.
These have been excellent on many a holiday giving hours of comfort day after day on the road.
When at the Bike Show last week I was talking with Lynne Timm from Motorcycle Gel Seat Pads and looking at their product I could see it was the same material as I had purchased at great expense from the USA.
If you are looking for more comfort from your bike when spending longer spells in the saddle you should take a look at this product.

Hi, here's a photo of me and my gel seat after 7000 miles. I rode the entire length of Ruta 40... One of the most difficult dirt roads in South America... Crossed the Andes twice and can still sit with comfort! It has been a revelation to me. I could not have done this journey without it. The pillion seat on the R1 is designed for occasional use. Or maybe only for decoration!
We have another Andes crossing tomorrow and then head north towards Columbia and Central America.

A very happy New Year to you. I managed to visit Juao just after Christmas in his town of Mecanhellas in Mozambique . He is delighted with the wheelchair cushion that we purchased from you. I think it will ensure that his skin stays in good condition for many years to come. He is about to finish school next year and will be looking for a job. I first met him five years ago when he was a patient in the hospital I manage in Blantyre , Malawi . He came to us for some very difficult spine surgery. His spine was extremely curved and was putting pressure on his heart and lungs and he may well have died in the end. Instead, his spine is now held straight and he can breathe well and his heart is no longer under pressure. Alas, he is paralyzed from the waist down. At the time we operated on him he lived in a tiny village with no power, no cell phones, no running water and not even a working well or pump. For water one of his family walked a few hundred metres to a muddy pond. There was no way that this water would be good enough to keep him clean and no way he could move about easily in the village in a wheelchair.
In response we constructed a new house for him in the compound of a mission school. Off his room he has a basin, w.c. and shower. This has meant that five years later he is still alive and his studies are going well. The town is just now receiving mains power, finally being restored after the civil war in Mozambique . I am very grateful to Dan Medica South for providing this cushion at a discount. I am very impressed with the product and I wish your company well.
